The Professional Agile Leadership™ (PAL I) certification validates that you are a leader who understands the value Agile can bring to a business and how to actively practice Agile. This certification demonstrates why leadership support of agile teams is essential to achieving organizational agility and what leaders can do to support their teams to help them achieve higher performance.

While attending a Professional Agile Leadership Essentials (PAL-E) course is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended to help you prepare for the Professional Agile Leadership I (PAL I) certification.

The PAL I assessment evaluates your knowledge across several key Focus Areas, as outlined in the Professional Scrum Competencies:

  • Understanding and Applying the Scrum Framework
    Topics include Empiricism, Scrum Values, Scrum Team roles, and Scrum Events.

  • Developing People and Teams
    Focuses on building self-managing teams, facilitation techniques, and various leadership styles.

  • Managing Products with Agility
    Covers areas like forecasting, release planning, maximizing product value, and engaging stakeholders and customers.

  • Developing and Delivering Products Professionally
    Emphasizes emergent software development and agile delivery practices.

  • Evolving the Agile Organization
    Addresses organizational design, cultural shifts, and the application of Evidence-Based Management.
